Khan El-Khalili · Old Cairo
Our story begins not in a modern boutique, but in the ancient alleyways of Khan el-Khalili — the great bazaar of Old Cairo, founded in 1382, where goldsmiths and jewellers have traded their craft for seven centuries. It was here that our great-grandfather first learned the language of gold: how it bends, how it catches light, how it holds a story.
In 1936, carrying that knowledge from the souk into a new era, he established El Mawardy — a name that would become synonymous with fine jewellery in Cairo for generations to come.
"From the old souk to your hands — the same craft, the same soul."
